Hello and thanks for stopping by! My name is Heather and I am a single mom of my beautiful son Lucas. I have been nursing my son for 5 months and still going currently. Let me tell you a little about my journey with breastfeeding. During my pregnancy I made the important decision that I wanted to go as natural as possible and breastfeed my little one. Everyone I knew tried to scare me out of the decision or didn’t believe I could succeed. I mean come on now, God created our breasts specifically for our babies. It was actually disheartening that some of my friends were so eager to be so negative towards my decision. Anyway, I wasn’t changing my mind for anything. When my son came into this world we both learned that latching on and feeding were not easy. …but even then that’s ok because I didn’t expect it to be easy. From day one in the hospital I had to start pumping my colostrum in order to feed my child. My milk supply was never high and still isn’t to this day and I have had to supplement formula every now and then since he was 2 weeks old . I’m a single working mother and pumping at work can be stressful at times. I’m always on the go at work and always pressed for TIME. I’m sure countless other moms are as well. I want to share some of my experience to help someone wondering how it can be done without stretching oneself too thin. Although breastfeeding can be tough to cram into a working mom’s schedule it is definately worth the struggle and there are tools out there to make it easier to succeed. The deciding factor is your dedication to give your baby the best you can!
